Thomas Sean Connery: The journey of Bond

Thomas Sean Connery better known to us as Sean Connery ( preferred Name) was a Scottish actor born August 25, 1930 to a rather large family. Sean’s father (factory worker) and mother (cleaning lady) was people of humble beginning, which instilled in Sean the value of hard work and respect.

Journeying into the life of Sean Connery, a path worthy of the Big Screen.

When asked about his early teens, Sean gave a detail account of losing his virginity to an adult woman at the age of 14. During his later teen years he held down many interested jobs such as milkman, Navy soldier, lorry driver (trucker), and coffin polisher, etc. It wasn’t until he got a job at the King’s Theatre the passion for Actor emerged.

Taking care of his body as well as competing as a bodybuilder Sean got invited to audition for a small roll in “South Pacific”, which he got the part as a Seabees chorus boy. Here is where his theatre journey began but it didn’t end there. The Journey comes.

ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE, Sean Connery, 1958

I often heard “Life Imitates Art” and during the research of Sean Connery’s life it seemed his off screen life was as exciting as his on screen characters. For instant, while in Edinburgh Sean was targeted by the Valdor Gang, which was held as the most dangerous in that city. The targeting was unsuccessful as well as regrettable….unknowing to them Sean had combat training in the Royal Navy -using only his hands to defeat the gang members earning him the nickname. “Hard Man”.

To earn money Sean took on babysitting. Here is truly where his personality and naturally swagger propel him into the acting scene.

From 1951- 1959 Sean Connery built his reputation as an actor with 8 manor roles, but that grind (passion) was fierce in him. He gave every role large or small the same dedication. Sean appearance stopped woman and most men in their tracks with a tall slim build he would alter atmospheres whenever he entered rooms, which made him prefect for the Shaken not Stirred character of James Bond.

Here is the moment worth waiting for…James Bond. From 1962-1983, Sean Connery was the the tall black haired British Agent everyone was waiting to hear speak and smile. Using moves on screen maybe learned at 14 (wink). The screen lite up and the audience was on consist stand by awaiting the next Bond to hit theatres.

I met Bond (Sean Connery) at the age of 10 (1983 on screen) and his character had me glued to the television. My father was a great admirer of Sean -allowing me to get caught up on all the originals movies. I still love those movies as well as others he worked in. It seemed the more he aged the better he looked. I just had to throw that in here.

On October 31,2020, after being retired for 14 years. Sir. Thomas Sean Connery gave his last curtain call -leaving us with a very important lesson. No matter how you begin in life; grind to live the life you want. I enjoyed researching Mr. Connery but there are much more information https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Connery it is worth the read. https://seanconnery.com/
