Have you always wanted to do music?

Not always. Music has been my 1st love since an early age but it was always from the outside looking in. As I grew older I experienced both the good and bad from behind the scenes. You have to be careful who you trust because everyone doesn’t have your best interest at heart. Originally I used to freestyle for fun but once my brother convinced me to get in the studio, I started recording and it opened my eyes to a new world. My passion grew stronger for music as I began to develop my craft as there was no looking back and only forward to possibility. Not being able to have full creative control was my only main concern because I didn’t want to be changed from who I already am. That isn’t something that I have to worry about with my management team now so that was a huge relief. The industry is what you make of it and who you choose to surround yourself with is important. There will always be hate and those who judge no matter what because it comes with the territory but my state of mind won’t allow opinions to stop my grind but instead fuel my drive.

In the beginning, was it difficult to find and develop your musical style?

It was challenging at first coming up with the hooks and other elements to a song aside from the verse. Being able to freestyle enabled me to flow easily with beats but you have to be able to construct and develop a song in its entirety. I like to make music that you can’t just hear but feel as well. I never wanted to sound like anyone else or be like anyone else so originality was always my main focus. Not boxing myself into one particular sound was important so I can stand out from the rest.

What separates you from other Female Lyricists?

My personality, style and talent as a whole I believe sets me apart the most but I don’t compare myself to others. I also do spoken word, poetry and have my own blog page ( www.nticemint.blogspot.com ) as writing in general has always been my passion. My two brothers rhyme as well and together we are the music group F.O.E. (fam over everything) and being able to do music with your immediate family isn’t something you see too often. It’s a unique way to emphasize how important family is to me while pursing my passion for music. Having several different looks also comes with my overall style so I’m constantly transforming into a new me.

In two words, describe your personal self and how she differences from Ntice?

Nikki Jasmin is classy yet a little sassy but Ntice is more serious and vicious
