VENUE
The full evening of New Orleans jazz will be held at the new Game Live Music venue, located in the newly remodeled South Baltimore warehouse area, immediately adjacent to Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino and just south of M&T Bank Stadium. In the all-night-long tradition of their shared hometown, festivities will begin at 6pm and continue until Bonerama and Panorama call it quits.

BONERAMA
Hailed as “unlike anything you’ve ever heard before” Bonerama has been a trendsetter in the classic New Orleans funk rock, brass band sound since its beginnings in 1998. Over the last 15 years Bonerama has expanded the boundaries of New Orleans Jazz—and its sphere of influence continues to grow. Their unique approach to the trombone has created a whole new impression of the instrument. Bonerama has performed the National Anthem at the Sugar Bowl, appeared on David Letterman and on HBO, and performed with countless national artists. Shake it Baby, the sixth and latest Bonerama album, has received worldwide acclaim. Bonerama features the dual lead vocals and trombones of Mark Mullins and Craig Klein, along with third trombonist (and backup vocalist) Greg Hicks, guitarist Bert Cotton, bassist/sousaphone player Matt Perrine, and drummer AJ Hall.

PANORAMA
Opening this first annual New Orleans North Jazz Festival will be Panorama Jazz Band. Panorama traces its beginnings to 1995 as a trio that quickly grew to a septet. Over their first 20 years, Panorama has released five albums that infuse indigenous, traditional sounds of worldly music cultures with the spirit of their hometown of New Orleans.
“From Eastern Europe to New Orleans, the panoramic view of the soundscape is pungently condensed to a hip and worldly mix. Live and acoustic, the Panorama Jazz Band is a rare sonic pleasure in the street or at a club…. They always ‘Come Out Swinging’.” —Nick Spitzer, Host of American Routes from PRI. While always anchored by founder/bandleader/clarinetist Ben Schenck, Panorama has featured a revolving cast of some of New Orleans’ finest musicians. For this tour (which also includes stops in Philadelphia and Annapolis), Schenck will be joined by Tomas Majcherski (alto saxophone), Jon Ramm (trombone), Matt Schreiber (accordion), Patrick Mackey (tenor banjo), Steve Glenn (tuba) and Doug Garrison (drums).
