Grinders, meeting this young lady was awesome but listening to her music transports you into a Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop with electricsoul emotion of relaxation. I could listen to her album from beginning to end. Below is a little bit more about her and the “Impulse” of her journey.
RYG: Tell us about your style of music?
I don’t always categorize my art. But as far as the prominent style, its a mixture of electric and soul. I’m always told there’s a groove to what I make. I act on how I feel. I may want to do hard hitting hip hop, or very smooth soul music. Regardless of the style there is always a hint of “me” in each instrumental all the way down to the way I record. I just make sure the cadence is relevant to those that listen to me heavily.
RYG: Have you always been an R&B singer?
I’ve always wanted to be in entertainment period. Be it pop, soul, Rock, or folk. Singing is in my blood and a long trait in my family. I’ve aspired it professionally since 16. I began singing period since 4 years old.
RYG: What are some of the challenges been in this indust
Lack of due credit. I know so many underdogs. That need to be exposed. So many artists that work hard and stay true to their craft. Any underground artist I listen to heavily have this boiling victory inside them that continuously tells them “its time for something to happen.” If more light was shed, then more greatness can spread.
RYG: How do you stay focused and on your passion?
By being clear on the main goal. Which is “by any means… get it done. No one is doing you favors and if you want something done or want something period.. go get it.”.
RYG: Words of inspiration?
No one’s doing it for you. Don’t question it. Believe it. Just do it.
