Dad The Chicago Cubs Won the World Series…

cubsWatching the 2016 World Series; Wednesday, November 2, 2016, my heart was filled with so many emotions. To see them Win melted my heart -filling my eyes with tears and my stomach with the ache that my father isn’t here to see this glorious moment.

See Grinders, my father (passed away April,1996) was a true die hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He would travel to Chicago during baseball season to attend the Cubs games with his brothers -coming back to commentate for us no matter the final score. His excitement, excited us. The way he would talk and his body language let me know my father LOVED this game and this team. Thus, they became my team as well…forever ride with the Chicago Cubs.

2016 made 20 years my father his passed away, but it also made he relive the happiest moments of my life…my father coming home to tell us about the Cubs game. Even though, he isn’t here to hear the roar of the crowd, to see the moment of the win, or slap hands with his brothers…he said they was going to win again when the time was right. I am glad I had a chance to see it -giving me back a childhood excitement I had so long ago. I just had to tell him: Dad they Won!!!!
