What is MS (Multiple Sclerosis)?

It’s a chronic relapse/remission autoimmune disease that affects the nervous system; Brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves in your eyes. It can cause problems with vision, balance, muscle control, and other basic body function.

This disease is often different for everyone who has it. Some people have mild to no symptoms and don’t need treatment, where others may have trouble getting around and doing daily tasks.

Most symptoms start between the ages of 20 and 40 with symptoms such as:

  •  Trouble walking
  • Feeling tiredmultiple-sclerosis-6
  • Muscle weakness or spasms
  • Blurred or double vision
  • Numbness and tingling
  • Sexual problems
  • Poor bladder or bowel control
  • Pain
  • Depression
  • Problems focusing or remembering

Doctors don’t know for sure what causes MS, but there are many things that seem to make the disease more likely. People with certain genes may have a higher chances and smokers maybe at a higher risk for diagnoses.
